Kristin Henke and Sarah Hathaway
MSP has been blessed throughout these past fifteen years and continue to be blessed to have a staff who loves the Lord and who are passionate about working with your children and families.
Let us take a moment to introduce our staff to you…
Kristin Henke – Director
Kristin Henke has been Director of Mustard Seed Preschool since 2009. Prior to that she was a 4s teacher at the school. A Texas native, she holds a degree in Psychology from Baylor University, and a Master’s in Social Work from the University of TN.
Kristin has always had a passion for family ministry. Mustard Seed Preschool is a unique opportunity to serve God’s kingdom through the lives of young children and their families. Kristin worked as Director of Foster Care and Adoption for the TN Baptist Children’s Home and also a foster care/adoption worker for children with special needs in Nashville. Those positions enabled her to see the great importance of early childhood education, support, and intervention to help a child thrive to their fullest potential. She loves to see young children grow and thrive as they learn Biblical truths and are inspired by the hope of the Gospel. Their enthusiasm and curiosity are both challenging and motivating.
Kristin has lived in Franklin since 1993 and been an active member of Christ Community Church for over 20 years. She is married to Jim Henke, and they have 3 sons; Will, Evan, and Blake.
Sarah Hathaway – Assistant Director
Sarah Hathaway has served as the Administrative Assistant and Registrar for Mustard Seed Preschool for the past five plus years. Sarah grew up in Memphis, Tennessee throughout her elementary, middle school and high school years until traveling to Mississippi State University to pursue an Interior Design degree. After graduation, she lived in Dallas, Texas, before settling back into life in Memphis working for First Tennessee Bank in their facilities department. This administrative and design position uniquely prepared Sarah for her role at Mustard Seed.
Being a part of Mustard Seed’s ministry allows Sarah to share her God given gift of administration, along with her heart for children and her desire that they see their true value from the perspective of their Creator. The pure joy seen in the eyes of the children warms her heart every day. Each and every day Sarah brings a smile and a welcoming heart to the pre-school as she greets each and every parent and child.
Sarah has lived in Franklin since 1994 and has been an active member of Brentwood Baptist Church ever since, working in children’s, youth and women’s ministry positions. Her passions include her family, sharing her creative gifts through sewing, God’s word and the old hymns that were inspired by the sacred text. She is married to Mike Hathaway and have two daughters; Mary Grace and Katie.
