Tues/Wed/Thurs/Fri
Kristen Ruzicka & Julie Kesler
I’m Kristen Ruzicka and I’m so excited to be joining the MSP community! My husband and I moved here from the Chicago area (Go Bears! Go Cubbies!) almost six years ago with our two children. I have a son in middle school and a daughter in second grade who attended the 4 day 5’s program at MSP. It is a privilege to step into the role of teacher after experiencing this program as a parent. I have a degree in Elementary Education from Cornerstone University and taught K-2 for 13 years before having children. Since then I have pivoted to Early Childhood, teaching Movement and Music, PreK and Special Education over the last several years. When I’m not having a ton of fun with kiddos in a classroom, I’m busy being a mom and wife. I also love running, camping, hiking, kayaking and using any excuse I can think of to get outside. I look forward to partnering with the families at Mustard Seed Preschool!
My name is Julie Kesler and this is my second year here at Mustard Seed as an assistant. I am excited to be joining Leah in the 5s class this year. I have lived in Franklin for over seven years now and we love it here. I have been married to my husband Will for 25 years and we have three children. Bennett is a junior at Furman University; Ellen is a sophomore at Samford University; and my youngest, Walker, is a sophomore in high school. I love spending my days at Mustard Seed with the kids and look forward to getting to know them this year.

Tues/Wed/Thurs/Fri
Delyn Redmond & Angie Amos
My name is Delyn Redmond. I have been teaching for the better part of 30 years…and I’ve loved every minute of it! I speak “5 year old,” and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I have been at MSP since we opened the doors in 2004 (they can’t get rid of me). I have a BS degree in Education from the University of Montevallo. I enjoy playing at Interior design, sewing, and beading. I love my faith, family, and football in ranking order. I have 3 amazing children and a wonderful husband Charley who works for Show Hope. We are strong advocates for orphans and adoption. We pray for the day when every child has a forever family.
My name is Angie Amos, and I am excited to be joining the Mustard Seed team as an assistant teacher this year! This school has a special place in my heart. All of my children attended Mustard Seed and I have worked here as a substitute in the past as well. I have been married to my husband, Tim, for 11 years, and we have three daughters (Madelyn-10, Mackenzie-8, and Abigail-6). Tim is in the Air Force, so we have moved numerous times over the years, but Franklin is now our permanent home. We love kayaking, hiking, and getting to explore beautiful Tennessee. I have always loved working with children. I worked at various daycares throughout high school and college, volunteered to help with the children’s programs at my home church growing up, and have also worked as a full-time nanny. Children are truly my passion. I look forward to getting to know your sweet children this year, and seeing how they grow and learn in our class.
Tues/Wed/Thurs/
Phyllis Knox & Leah Boonstra
My name is Phyllis Knox and I’m starting my 8th year as a 5’s teacher. I truly feel called to be a part of this sweet school. I have an elementary education degree from Ole Miss and have taught 3rd and 4th grades , kindergarten and preschool. My husband and I have 4 children and 2 sweet grand babies. I love getting to spend time with my family and friends and our favorite place to relax is on the beach.
My name is Leah Boonstra. I live in Franklin with my wonderful husband Tim and our two sons (Grant is a freshman at Western Kentucky University and Darren is a freshman at Centennial High School). This is my 9th year at MSP. I taught preschool in Fort Myers, FL for 8 years before my family and I moved to Franklin in 2012. I am so grateful that the Lord led me to MSP and I feel truly privileged to serve here. In my free time I enjoy family time, hiking, jogging, bargain shopping and watching Darren run cross country and track.
