We truly feel so blessed to have been led to Christ Community church and Mustard Seed. I have a business background but I love working and learning with children so I am back in school, working on getting my Masters for Elementary Education. When I have free time I love to be outside exploring and traveling with my family.

Barb Taylor & Kristin Linn
My name is Barb Taylor and I love teaching 4’s at MSP! I have a Bachelor of Music degree from Lambuth College with minors in Education and Church Music. My husband Brad and I are high school sweethearts. We have six wonderful children who are the joy of our life. I have served on the board of a local homeschool tutorial where I taught grades K-1. Additionally, I wrote curriculum and developed programs for children’s worship at Fellowship Bible Church for 12 years. I have been an instructor at Foundations Christian Academy for 6 years teaching both Kindergarten and 1st grade. I love studying God’s word, reading, watching my kids sporting events, and having the whole family gathered at the dinner table. It is a joy to share the love of Jesus with little ones at MSP!
My name is Kristin Linn and this is my second year at Mustard Seed Preschool. Last year I was a floater and this year I am excited to be an assistant for the 4’s. MSP is a special place and I so enjoy the woman, parents and children that grace the halls. My husband, Davis, and I have been married for 19 years and have been blessed with two sons, Max (18) – a freshman at the University of Tennessee and Nate (16) – a junior at Franklin High School. I have a degree in Marketing from Michigan State University. My career led me to Atlanta from Michigan where I met my Mississippi-born husband on a blind date! His career transplanted us to Franklin. We’ve been in Franklin for 14 years and never want to leave! We are members of Cross Point Church and I have been a small group leader in their elementary environments for many years, as well as, a leader in their 3/4 preschool environment. I enjoyed the preschoolers so much that it lead me to pursue a position at MSP! My free time is spent cheering on my boys at their hockey, soccer, band and swim events. I also love to hike, read, volunteer, travel and spend time with family and friends. I am excited to see what God has in store for this year.
Sarah Eliott & Allie Barksdale
My name is Sarah Elliott and this is my fourth year teaching at Mustard Seed Preschool. My husband, Jason and I have been married for 21 years. We have three wonderful children; Hannah, a Freshman at Samford University, AJ, a Junior at Franklin High School, and Evie, a Mustard Seed graduate and 2nd grader at Walnut Grove Elementary! My family moved here from San Diego, California, where I taught preschool at Horizon Prep. I studied Psychology at the University of California, Riverside, and Early Childhood Education at Laguna Technical College. When I am not loving on sweet kiddos in the classroom, you will find me cheering on my kids at their many sporting events, playing tennis, kayaking, or just having fun with family and friends! It is an honor to be a part of the Mustard Seed Family and serve alongside an amazing and loving group of women. I am excited to see all God is going to do this year! I am praying for our class to grow academically, as we develop a lifelong love of learning, and spiritually, as we learn more about God’s grace and love!
My name is Allie Barksdale, and I am absolutely thrilled for my first year at Mustard Seed Preschool! I grew up in Franklin and graduated from Auburn University (War Eagle!) where I met my husband Phillip. We have been married for ten years and now live in the same neighborhood he grew up in here in Franklin. Our precious miracle twins, Bennett and Elodie, will also be in a 4s class at Mustard Seed. Working with littles has always been a passion of mine. I was an elementary school teacher for six years; 2nd Grade in Alpharetta, GA and most recently Kindergarten and 3rd Grade at Scales Elementary in Brentwood. In 2017, the Lord answered our long-awaited prayer of becoming parents, and I stayed home with our sweet gifts until the Lord led us to Mustard Seed this year. The Lord divinely orchestrated our path to MSP, and I don’t think words could truly express the amount of excitement I have about stepping into the precious Kingdom work being done. I love Jesus and cannot wait to share that love with your precious gifts. I also adore reading God’s Word, journaling, planning crafts or parties, and finding ways to intentionally love others.
Traci Zegelien & Jessica Lorenz
My name is Traci Zegelien, and this year is my eighth year on staff at Mustard Seed. My husband Paul and I have been married for 17 years, our son Lucas is 13 years old, and our shepherd-lab mix Clark is 7 years old. We currently live in Spring Hill and attend and serve at Rolling Hills Community Church in Franklin. I grew up in Indiana and went to college in east Tennessee. I attended Bryan College; I played basketball and volleyball there and earned my degree in education and Bible. I’ve taught middle school reading and language arts in Clarksville and Nashville since 1995, earned a Master’s degree in education and spent one year serving as a literacy coach to nine Metro schools before taking time off to start our family. Our son Lucas is MSP alumni and in sixth grade this school year. I’m so grateful to be a part of Mustard Seed staff, among authentic women of faith who are gifted in loving kids well, and I’m especially glad about being a part of the Fours teaching team. This school year, I hope to stretch our students academically, but most importantly plant and nurture God’s Word in their hearts and minds, helping them develop a greater understanding of who He is. What an honor and privilege it is to partner with you in your child’s preschool education!
My name is Jessica Lorenz and I am so excited to be a Teacher Assistant this year! I joined MSP last year as a sub and am so happy to be back again learning with your precious children. I grew up in Franklin and graduated from the University of Alabama where I met my husband. We have two daughters. A second grader who graduated from MSP in 2018 and and a 5 year old that attends MSP. I homeschooled my eldest for two years and have such a passion for classical education. It has been such a joy to be a part of this sweet school. When I am not at MSP or volunteering at my other daughter’s school, I love reading, digging into God’s Word, spending time with family, hiking at the Natchez Trace and grilling s’mores on the fire with my girls! I am so thankful for the opportunity to share the Gospel with the next generation.
